About: Danny Huh is a Korean American boy and is the oldest of three kids. The rest of his siblings are all much younger than he is, so he takes his job as a big brother very seriously. He comes from a middle class family, and though they are pretty comfortable and living in a nice home, he still feels obligated to give his parents some of the money he earns from his part time job. He likes that they have a little padding in their wallets in case there are any emergencies or if his brothers want a toy.
His two younger brothers are twins and both six years old. Max, the older one by one minute, looks up to Joel greatly and loves being around him. Colin, on the other hand, still loves his brother but has temperament issues that Danny has been working on with him. He is prone towards throwing temper tantrums, and Danny is the only one in his family that can calm him down in a decent amount of time.
When Danny was in his freshman year of high school his parents had forced him to try out for the talent show -- he had been classically trained in piano and singing since he was a child and his parents, always eager to butt into his life, thought it would be a good way to make friends. Of course, they were definitely not expecting their classically trained son to become such fast friends with Jack. Jack was a Sophomore who had tried out for the talent show by singing and playing an original song on guitar. They both noted each others talent and as they talked they realized how much they had in common. They hung out often after that, and when they found out that they both didn’t make it into the talent show they became even closer, remarking that it was “a popularity contest anyway.” That was when Jack asked Danny if he would like to sing in his band, and Danny accepted instantly.
At first it took him a while to get used to the scene that Jack played his band in and also the people he hung out with, but he learned early on that he was able to get along with almost everyone if he tried hard enough. His parents initially didn’t like the idea of their son playing music in a bar or hanging out with Jack, but once they showed up to a couple of gigs they found that Chester’s wasn’t that bad of a place, and that they actually really liked the music they played. They allowed him to stay in the band as long as it didn’t affect his studies.
As Danny played more music and hung out with the artsy kids he began to realize more about him. He loved the way he could touch people’s life with music, and oftentimes him and Jack go to the local nursing home to play music for the seniors. He would like to go into Music Therapy when he grows up, or maybe even be a music teacher.
Another thing he learned about himself as he played in the band was the confusing question of his sexuality. The second that he was a known frontman of a band he was constantly receiving many more advances than he used to. While at first he tried to act like Jack and accept every one that came his way, he soon found out that that life really wasn’t for him. It became more and more awkward to try and explain to the person he was with why he couldn’t stay hard or why he was so bashful. Having sex became more of a chore than it was a pleasant experience, and many times Danny even backed out when he realized that he just wasn’t feeling it.
It took a couple google searches on asexuality for him to realize that he was a demisexual. He was simply not sexually attracted to anybody and did not have any desire to have sex. That is, if he didn’t have any romantic feelings towards the person. There had been a couple relationships where he became close enough to the person to have sexual feelings and he even occasionally acted on them. However he is yet to find someone that he would like to spend his life with and that is also willing to wait until he is ready.
Personality: Danny has a level head and a very small temper, thanks to living with two hyperactive six year olds. Sometimes his bandmates remind him of them, and he’s often the one to calm everyone down and balance out the rest of the band’s big personalities. Danny is usually the one to settle disputes or make compromises, often explaining the solutions in a way that makes everyone happy. He finds it easy to get along with everyone, even the shadier people that come along with the scene of playing in a small-town bar every weekend. He’s not as into the partying scene as Jack is, either, but he will usually accompany him to keep him grounded or be the designated driver.
Danny is not super high on the social pyramid, but he is well known around the school thanks to the band and also the fact that he’s friends with many people. He likes to consider himself a bit of a den mother to all of his friends, and he likes to check up on them occasionally to make sure everything’s alright. This often leaves him with some burden from others on his shoulders, but he really doesn’t mind it. As long as they have a good time in return, Danny is happy.
Appearance: Danny is tall, 6’2’’ and rather lanky. His parents never thought sports were that important and consequently Danny never got into them. Because of this he has only a little muscle mass and a very slight frame, but for some reason it does fit in with the image he portrays as the frontman of Jack’s band. While the rest of the band does their best to look as grungey as possible, Danny loves to come to shows in tight dress pants and a tie. However, as the show goes on and his outfit becomes even more disheveled he finds that both boys and girls start to go a little crazy for him. And even though he doesn’t have much of a sex drive himself, no one would be able to tell by the way he moved around on stage.
When not playing with his band, Danny takes it upon himself to dress himself in clothes from the thrift shop. Though this was originally to keep costs low, he soon found that it was really easy to look like a total hipster while wearing secondhand clothes, so he just rolled with the image. He also is addicted to wearing beanies and skinny jeans. He doesn’t even mind that people may make fun of him for wearing such tight pants (it’s mostly Jack, anyway) because he likes the way they look on him.
He has jet black hair that he grows out to be a little long and unruly. He has pale skin and brown eyes, and it is often remarked that he has a bit of a baby face. He also finds it annoying that he can’t grow out a beard all that well, either.
Likes: hanging out with his brothers, Korean food, cats, dancing, singing, musical theater, playing music, obnoxious ties, getting tipsy, dress shoes, electroswing music, reading comic books
Dislikes: asshole people, when his friends fight, mexican food, country music, dressing down, being coerced into intimacy, letting people down, romantic comedies, being cold
