Welcome to the sleepy town of Eden, called by many real estate agents as paradise on Earth. However, this seemingly perfect town hides a dark secret centuries old. Eden is the epicenter of what seems like a dangerous gamble with a group of teenagers souls. 14 teenagers -- all of them the personifications of the Cardinal Sins and Virtues.
Assigned as either a Seven Deadly Sin or a Seven Heavenly virtue, their fates were predetermined before they were born for a supernatural test to see if their human natures could be fundamentally changed. The test, ominously dubbed by the townsfolk as simply "the experiment," begins in the teenager's first year of high school and will continue until the day they day -- the day where their souls will be judged and be sent to either Heaven or Hell. All of this is overseen by the teachers and faculty of Eden High School, the epicenter of the experiment. Depending on which class you take your teacher may be either an Angel or a Demon and working with others on gambling with your soul. Though no one knows who exactly is behind the experiment -- God? Satan? Something else entirely? -- all Supernatural creatures in on it are too afraid to question it. The soul point of the experiment is to see if the outside forces of good and evil can change the fates of the 14 kids. Teachers work against teachers to influence the children into their own domain -- heaven or hell. They have been told that the experiment will cease if all 14 teenagers are sent to the same place. It would be considered a victory for the side that succeeded in bringing the group to either salvation or damnation. Then, and only then, will this experiment cease.
Because of this, the town of Eden has become a safe haven for supernatural creatures. Oftentimes generations of families with genetic predispositions towards supernatural abilities stay put in Eden despite the sketchy experiment simply because it is the safest place to stay. Some even take it upon themselves to help whatever side they believe is right, and also spread their influence. Some even become invested in the teenagers future, becoming teachers or mentors to them and sometimes even friends.
Alongside the supernatural is the natural. The population of Eden is mostly comprised of humans that know nothing about the experiment. Sometimes, even the parents of a child involved, completely unaware of the dangerous game being played. What would happen if the humans found out the secret about their town? And what will the teenagers do if they discover the secret behind their identities? With every new generation of children, the secret has become harder and harder to keep, especially as modern technology progresses. It is incredibly likely that someone may notice patterns or the way history has been repeating itself.
That is another part of the experiment -- no child involved has ever lived past thirty. And unfortunately for the forces orchestrating the experiment, records are easily traced and anomalies easily noticed. It's only a matter of time before the truth comes out.
But until then, kids will be kids.
